I opted out of today's prompt and wrote the following poem instead:
THE DARK SIDE
Truth is the light
That people profess
They want to know yet
Cannot handle the
Responsibility which
Comes with illumination
Even if it does set them free
Darkness is safer
Not to know
Is bad not to wish to know
Is worse
