October's Open Door Reading features University of Illinois' Adam Clay and his student Bobby Bolt with DePaul University’s Kathleen Rooney and her student Jessica Anne. Before the reading, visit the Poetry Foundation Library for its special evening hours, 4:00–7:00 PM.

Well-known in her native Poland, Wisława Szymborska received international recognition when she won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1996. Translator Clare Cavanagh, poets Henri Cole and Rosanna Warren, journalist Mary Schmich, and Robert Rusiecki celebrate Szymborska’s life and work.

The Harriet Reading Series presents both established and emerging poets whose writing finds innovative approaches to the craft of poetry. Oakland-based poet, musician, and artist Elaine Kahn is the author of Women in Public (2015). She is the managing editor of the independent publisger Flowers & Cream, and a founding member of the P.Splash Puppet Collective.
