April 17: Monthly poetry discussion group
  
The next meeting of the Emily Dickinson Museum's poetry discussion group will be held on Friday, April 17, at noon at the Amherst College Alumni House, located at 75 Churchill Street.
 
This month's discussion topic is "Emily Dickinson and the Civil War." Leading the discussion will be Mount Holyoke College English Professor Elizabeth Young, author of Disarming the Nation: Women's Writing and the American Civil War (University of Chicago Press, 1999).

Poetry Walk 2014
May 16: Poetry Walk
and Members Day

The annual Emily Dickinson Poetry Walk and Members Day will be held on Saturday, May 16.

The Members Day luncheon begins at 11:30 am at the Amherst College Alumni House at 75 Churchill Street in Amherst. Invitations will be sent to members in April. To reserve seats, emailmembership@EmilyDickinsonMuseum.org or call 413-542-5084.

The Poetry Walk will start at 1 pm on Homestead lawn. The walk marks the anniversary of the poet's death (on May 15, 1886) with readings of her poetry at several historic sites in Amherst. It is free and open to the public.
